Your morning update on futures prop firm rule changes, refreshed overnight.
We track the published rules and policies of 32 futures prop firms and keep every version, so when a firm edits a rule we have the before and after in writing. Most of what changes is really nothing: a fixed typo, a clarified sentence, a word added here and there. But real changes stand out fast, and you can literally watch rules and policies tighten line by line. Payout terms creep, consistency thresholds drop, and prices quietly climb. It works the other way too: sometimes payouts improve and rules loosen, and when that happens it’s usually one of our Premier firms.
Most of the tightening shows up on the Unlisted side, firms we track but haven’t listed on PickAPropFirm.com. When a firm with a rough reputation starts gaining traction on rock-bottom prices, promoted by affiliates who would scam their own grandma for a commission, the discount usually costs you somewhere else, and that somewhere shows up here. If a plan looks too good to be true, it almost always is.
Starred changes are the ones we think deserve your attention; the full feed below is everything we caught, right down to the typo fixes.
Treat this page like your morning paper. It updates overnight, so grab your coffee and see what changed. – Jmu (@jmutrades)
We split that step out and call it the Buffer Zone. It is where you build the balance that carries into your Sim Funded account, and it is deliberately gentler than the evaluation you just passed: a smaller target and no daily loss limit.
Account size | Profit target | Drawdown | Consistency | Largest single day
And if you fail it, you reset the Buffer Zone on its own. Your evaluation still stands — you never go back to the beginning. Resets are $250 each for the first three, then $300 for resets four to six, $350 for seven to nine, and so on. If your Buffer Zone had already passed into Sim Funded, a reset is $500. These are the Propel Buffer Zone reset prices.
Phase 3 — Sim Funded
Your account is still simulated, but the profits are real and you can withdraw them. There is no profit target here — the job is to keep trading well.
Payouts can be requested daily, Monday to Friday, on any balance above your starting balance. Requests made before 11am ET are processed the same trading day. While Sim Funded, stop trading for the day once you are $5,000 up and for the week once you are $10,000 up — passing $10,000 in total profit triggers a review for Live Brokerage, where the caps come off entirely.
Nothing is charged during this phase. Your subscription ended at the evaluation.
How the consistency rule works
The consistency rule keeps your biggest day in proportion to the rest of your trading. We compare your largest single profitable day against the sum of your profitable days. Losing days are left out of the calculation entirely — many firms divide by your net profit instead, which shrinks the number you are measured against and makes the rule harder to satisfy.
Here is a week counted both ways. Say you made $1,000 on Monday, $900 on Tuesday, lost $600 on Wednesday, then made $900 on Thursday and $600 on Friday:
- At BluSky we add up your profitable days: $1,000 + $900 + $900 + $600 = $3,400. Your biggest day of $1,000 is 29.4% of that — inside the 34% rule. ✅
- Counting net profit instead subtracts the losing day: $3,400 − $600 = $2,800. The same $1,000 day is now 35.7% — outside the same rule. ❌
The 300K works to a 21% rule instead, so the same week would need your profit spread across more days to comply.
Being out of consistency does not fail your account. It is checked when you request a payout or try to pass a phase, and you fix it by trading on — every additional profitable day grows the total you are measured against and brings your percentage down.
Resetting a Propel evaluation
Most traders do not pass first time. A reset clears the days traded, the balance and the rules by creating a fresh evaluation account, so you can try again without buying a new plan.

Both options share the same risk logic. Option 1 uses the trailing drawdown. Option 2 uses the end-of-day drawdown together with a daily loss limit and has no scaling plan.
On both options the drawdown follows the balance upward and then stops for good once it reaches the starting balance plus $100. From that point it is a fixed floor and no longer moves.
On Option 2 the daily loss limit stays active for the whole life of the account and is never lifted. The $25,000 Option 2 account is the exception: it has no daily loss limit.

TUnlistedTop One Futures · Elite ACCESS Intraday - Maximum Loss Limit - Funded Phase (Intraday) | Top One Futures Help CenterupdatedFuturesClarified that TIDD moves upward only on new highs and does not decrease; added explanation of drawdown lock mechanism; specified payout request triggers the lock; added rule violation consequences for breaching maximum loss limit.Sep 22
Before
- It moves upward only as your account hits new highs.
After
- It moves upward only as your live equity hits new highs, it does not go down.
Elite ACCESS Intraday – Maximum Loss Limit (MLL) (Funded Phase)
On our Elite ACCESS Intraday Funded Accounts, we use a Trailing Intra-Day Drawdown (TIDD) model to manage risk and reward consistency. This rule protects both the trader and the firm from excessive loss while still allowing room for growth.
What Is the Trailing Intra-Day Drawdown?
Trailing Intra-Day Drawdown (TIDD) means your maximum allowable loss trails your highest intra-day equity—including open (unrealized) trades. It is tracked live, tick by tick, in real-time.
- It is not fixed at the starting balance.
Section: What Is the Trailing Intra-Day Drawdown?
− - It moves upward only as your account hits new highs.
- It is based on the highest equity value during the day, not just closed trades.
− - The TIDD does not reset at the end of the day; it is always calculated based on the highest realized or unrealized P&L.
Example – $100,000 Account with 3% TIDD
- Account Size: $100,000
- TIDD: 3% = $3,000
- Initial Breach Level: $97,000
Scenario 1
You make $1,000 and close the trade.
- New high: $101,000
- New breach level: $98,000
Scenario 2
Section: Scenario 2
− You open a trade, and your equity spikes to $103,000 (unrealized).
- Even if you close it later at $102,500, the breach level is $100,000 (based on the peak of $103,000).
Scenario 3
Your next trade spikes to $105,500, then drops to $103,000.
Section: Scenario 3
− - New breach level: $102,500
- If your equity drops below $102,500, the account breaches—even if you haven't closed the trade.
− Key Takeaway: The TIDD follows your highest equity value during the day, whether realized or unrealized. It does not reset when you close a trade.
− When Does the TIDD Stop Trailing?
− On Elite ACCESS Intraday Funded Accounts, your TIDD continues to trail until you receive your first payout.
− After your first payout, it locks in at the starting balance plus $100 and stops trailing. From that point forward, account growth no longer raises the breach level.
Summary of TIDD Rules
- Real-time: Includes open (unrealized) trades.
- Dynamic: Adjusts upward as new equity highs are hit.
- Breach Level: If equity drops below the trailing threshold, your account breaches.
- Post-Payout Lock: After your first payout, the TIDD locks in place at your starting balance + $100 and stops trailing.

This rule rewards discipline, not gambling. Traders who manage risk and grow steadily will thrive.

+ Summary of TIDD Rules
+ - Real-time: Includes open (unrealized) trades.
+ - Dynamic: Adjusts upward as new equity highs are hit, never goes down.
+ - Breach Level: If equity drops below the trailing threshold, your account breaches.
+ - Drawdown Lock: After your first payout, the TIDD locks in place at your starting balance + $100 and stops trailing.
This rule rewards discipline, not gambling. Traders who manage risk and grow steadily will thrive.
TUnlistedTop One Futures · Elite ACCESS Intraday - Maximum Loss Limit - Evaluation Phase (EOD) | Top One Futures Help CenterupdatedFuturesDrawdown Lock threshold definition changed from "initial starting balance + $100" to "drawdown in profits + $100"; added section explaining when lock triggers with example and table of lock levels by account size.Sep 22
During the evaluation phase, the Maximum Loss Limit is calculated strictly on an End-of-Day (EOD) trailing basis.
Maximum Loss Limit by Account Size
Account Size | Evaluation MLL (EOD)
$25,000 | $1,000
$50,000 | $2,000
$100,000 | $3,000
$150,000 | $4,000
How EOD Trailing Drawdown Works (Evaluation Only)
- Calculated at Market Close: The drawdown level updates based on your closed account balance at the end of the trading day (5 PM EST / Market Close).
- Does Not Trail Intraday: Equity spikes during active trading will not raise your drawdown limit mid-session.
- Trails Up, Never Down: As your end-of-day balance reaches new highs, your trailing stop level moves up accordingly.
Section: How EOD Trailing Drawdown Works (Evaluation Only)
− - Drawdown Lock: Once your account balance reaches the threshold to lock drawdown (typically initial starting balance + $100), the MLL stops trailing and remains fixed.
- Day 1: If you end the day at $51,500, your new MLL threshold for the next day becomes $49,500 ($51,500 – $2,000).
− - Mid-Day Highs: If your equity touches $52,000 during the session but you close the day at $51,000, your drawdown level updates based on the $51,000 closing balance.
What Happens When Funded?
When you pass the evaluation and transition to a funded Elite ACCESS Intraday account:
- The drawdown model switches from End-of-Day (EOD) to Intraday Trailing Drawdown.
- An active Daily Loss Limit (DLL) also applies during the funded phase.
Rule Violations
If your account balance closes at or drops below your Maximum Loss Limit threshold during the evaluation phase:
- The account will be permanently breached.
- Trading access will be disabled.
- A reset ($35) is required to re-attempt the evaluation phase.
Summary
- Evaluation Phase: Uses EOD Trailing Drawdown (updates only at market close).
- Funded Phase: Switches to Intraday Trailing Drawdown + Daily Loss Limit.

+ Drawdown Lock: Once your highest End of Day Balance reaches the threshold to lock drawdown. (drawdown in profits + $100), the MLL stops trailing and remains fixed at starting balance + $100. From that point forward, further account growth no longer raises the breach level.
+ An example $50,000 Account - This account has $2,000 drawdown.

+ $100K | $100,100

TUnlistedTop One Futures · Path to Trading Live | Top One Futures Help CenterupdatedFuturesArticle now describes a Pre-Live stage between sim and live trading, with traders receiving 80/20 profit split and same drawdown limits as live accounts.Sep 4
The following outlines your path to becoming a live trader without any need to risk your own personal funds.
Section: Transitioning to Pre-Live / Live
− Transitioning to Live
After 3 successful payouts from one sim funded account, a risk manager will review your account and either:
- Keep you in the sim funded environment for further review
- Transition you to a live account
Note: Top One Futures may transition you to a live account sooner than your third payout depending on your trading history.
− When transitioning to a live account, all other accounts are temporarily disabled while the risk manager evaluates the trader's performance. Trading on sim accounts is not permitted during this review period.
− When transitioning to Live, Trader will start with a maximum of one (1) live account, with the ability to scale up to 5 live accounts.
− How Do We Move Funds to Live?
− Rather than carrying over a capped amount of sim profits as was our previous policy, traders will receive live accounts (scaling up to 5) in proportion to the account size traded in sim with the following parameters.
Live Acct Size | Starting Balance | MLL - EOD Drawdown | EOD Balance to Trigger DD Lock | Drawdown Lock | DLL | Max Contracts
$25K | $0 | $1,000 | $1,100 | $100 | None | 1
$50K | $0 | $2,000 | $2,100 | $100 | None | 3
$100K | $0 | $3,000 | $3,100 | $100 | None | 5
$150K | $0 | $4,000 | $4,100 | $100 | None | 7
Section: Moving from Pre-Live to Live
− Traders will start with one (1) live account. Based on the number of qualifying sim accounts, traders will receive another live account each time the previously granted live account reaches the following balance:
− Live Account Size | EOD Balance | Receive Another Live Account
− $25K | $1,100 | ✅
− $50K | $2,100 | ✅
− $100K | $3,100 | ✅
− $150K | $4,100 | ✅
− Example:
− - When a $50K live account achieves an end of day balance of $2,100, Trader will be granted their 2nd $50K live account.
− - When the trader achieves an end of day balance of $2,100 on their 2nd live $50K account, Trader will be granted their 3rd $50K live account.
− Live Payout Policy
− - No Payout Caps - Unlimited Withdrawals
− - No Consistency Rule
− - No Daily Loss Limit
− - Daily Payouts: Payouts are available every 24-hours after the previous payout is approved. (Minimum payout = $200)
− - Profit Split: When a trader is moved to a live account, their profit split will go from 90/10 to 80/20
− - Withdraw-able profits are profits created in excess of your starting balance.
What is the Pre-Live Stage and Why Does It Exist?
Based on trader behavior and breach patterns, many successful SIM traders struggle with the psychological transitioning to live trading.
To bridge that gap, we created the Pre-Live stage. An opportunity for you to continue earning sim profits with the same benefits of the live program, while making the shift to trading fully live capital.
The Pre-Live environment allows us to:
- Assess how a trader handles live-market psychology and risk management under real-time pressure with the same starting balance as their sim-account.
- Protect firm capital from immediate exposure to high-risk behavior
- Smooth out the Live transition by evaluating traders in a realistic yet controlled setting
What Traders Gain in Pre-Live:

Frequently Asked Questions
How many payouts do I need before I can go live?
For most accounts, you need 3 successful payouts.
Elite Daily accounts are the exception and require 5 successful payouts.
In some cases a trader may be transitioned to a Live Account sooner, but the numbers above are the standard requirement.
If I get selected to move to live, can I choose to stay in Sim Funding?
No. If you are selected to move to live, your options are to begin trading live or to close your Sim Funded account. You may not voluntarily close your live account and move back to Sim. Sim trading should be seen as a gateway to trading live, having your consistency rule removed, receiving unlimited payouts, and scaling your capital. Any attempts to intentionally breach accounts to remain in Sim is strictly prohibited and may result in having trading privileges revoked.
What are the Benefits of trading a Live Account versus Sim?
If you are selected to move to trading live, you have the ability to earn an unlimited income with no withdrawal limits as a professional trader. Not only will your consistency rule be removed, you’ll have the ability to withdraw profits every 24 hours.
How long does it take to receive my live account?
Once you’ve been approved to move to live, your live account will be set up with the broker in 2-3 weeks.

TUnlistedTop One Futures · Daily Drawdown: What You Need to Know | Top One Futures Help CenterupdatedFuturesAdded note that account reactivation after session open takes up to 5-10 minutes for system processing before trading resumes.Aug 13
This means that if your account's equity drops to $25,375 at any point during the current trading day, the system will automatically execute market orders to liquidate all of your open positions.
⚠️ Important Disclaimer:
The Daily Drawdown Limit (DLL) is a risk management tool, not a stop loss. It should never be relied on to close your trades at a specific loss amount.
Due to market volatility, slippage, and execution speed, the DLL can execute late, early, at a different price than you expect, or fail to trigger.
If you want to control your risk as best as possible, you must place hard stop loss orders directly on your trades. Relying solely on the DLL can result in losing more than intended.
Top One Futures is not responsible for any losses that exceed the daily drawdown limit. Any loss beyond your allowed threshold is the trader’s responsibility.
What Happens If You Hit the Daily Drawdown?
- Soft Breach: Trading is paused for the rest of the day.
- Resume Trading: You can continue the next day, as long as your account hasn’t exceeded the Max Trailing Drawdown.
Section: What Happens If You Hit the Daily Drawdown?
How Is It Calculated?
The Daily Loss Limit is a dynamic value calculated based on your previous day's closing balance.
Let's use an example to illustrate:
- Rule: The daily loss allowed is $625.
- Previous Day's Close: Let's say you ended the previous day with a balance of $26,000.
To find your breach level for the current day, you simply subtract the allowed loss from that balance: $26,000 (Previous Close) - $625 (Daily Loss) = $25,375
This means that if your account's equity drops to $25,375 at any point during the current trading day, the system will automatically execute market orders to liquidate all of your open positions.
