Your morning update on futures prop firm rule changes, refreshed overnight.
We track the published rules and policies of 32 futures prop firms and keep every version, so when a firm edits a rule we have the before and after in writing. Most of what changes is really nothing: a fixed typo, a clarified sentence, a word added here and there. But real changes stand out fast, and you can literally watch rules and policies tighten line by line. Payout terms creep, consistency thresholds drop, and prices quietly climb. It works the other way too: sometimes payouts improve and rules loosen, and when that happens it’s usually one of our Premier firms.
Most of the tightening shows up on the Unlisted side, firms we track but haven’t listed on PickAPropFirm.com. When a firm with a rough reputation starts gaining traction on rock-bottom prices, promoted by affiliates who would scam their own grandma for a commission, the discount usually costs you somewhere else, and that somewhere shows up here. If a plan looks too good to be true, it almost always is.
Starred changes are the ones we think deserve your attention; the full feed below is everything we caught, right down to the typo fixes.
Treat this page like your morning paper. It updates overnight, so grab your coffee and see what changed. – Jmu (@jmutrades)
We split that step out and call it the Buffer Zone. It is where you build the balance that carries into your Sim Funded account, and it is deliberately gentler than the evaluation you just passed: a smaller target and no daily loss limit.
Account size | Profit target | Drawdown | Consistency | Largest single day
And if you fail it, you reset the Buffer Zone on its own. Your evaluation still stands — you never go back to the beginning. Resets are $250 each for the first three, then $300 for resets four to six, $350 for seven to nine, and so on. If your Buffer Zone had already passed into Sim Funded, a reset is $500. These are the Propel Buffer Zone reset prices.
Phase 3 — Sim Funded
Your account is still simulated, but the profits are real and you can withdraw them. There is no profit target here — the job is to keep trading well.
Payouts can be requested daily, Monday to Friday, on any balance above your starting balance. Requests made before 11am ET are processed the same trading day. While Sim Funded, stop trading for the day once you are $5,000 up and for the week once you are $10,000 up — passing $10,000 in total profit triggers a review for Live Brokerage, where the caps come off entirely.
Nothing is charged during this phase. Your subscription ended at the evaluation.
How the consistency rule works
The consistency rule keeps your biggest day in proportion to the rest of your trading. We compare your largest single profitable day against the sum of your profitable days. Losing days are left out of the calculation entirely — many firms divide by your net profit instead, which shrinks the number you are measured against and makes the rule harder to satisfy.
Here is a week counted both ways. Say you made $1,000 on Monday, $900 on Tuesday, lost $600 on Wednesday, then made $900 on Thursday and $600 on Friday:
- At BluSky we add up your profitable days: $1,000 + $900 + $900 + $600 = $3,400. Your biggest day of $1,000 is 29.4% of that — inside the 34% rule. ✅
- Counting net profit instead subtracts the losing day: $3,400 − $600 = $2,800. The same $1,000 day is now 35.7% — outside the same rule. ❌
The 300K works to a 21% rule instead, so the same week would need your profit spread across more days to comply.
Being out of consistency does not fail your account. It is checked when you request a payout or try to pass a phase, and you fix it by trading on — every additional profitable day grows the total you are measured against and brings your percentage down.
Resetting a Propel evaluation
Most traders do not pass first time. A reset clears the days traded, the balance and the rules by creating a fresh evaluation account, so you can try again without buying a new plan.

Both options share the same risk logic. Option 1 uses the trailing drawdown. Option 2 uses the end-of-day drawdown together with a daily loss limit and has no scaling plan.
On both options the drawdown follows the balance upward and then stops for good once it reaches the starting balance plus $100. From that point it is a fixed floor and no longer moves.
On Option 2 the daily loss limit stays active for the whole life of the account and is never lifted. The $25,000 Option 2 account is the exception: it has no daily loss limit.

− FTMO Futures is based on a recurring monthly subscription, not a one-time fee. You are charged when you purchase the Evaluation and on the same date each month (your billing anniversary), as long as your subscription remains active. The subscription gives you access to your Evaluation account, the trading platform, and the included market data.
+ FTMO Futures is based on a recurring monthly subscription, not a one-time fee. You are charged when you purchase the Evaluation and on the same date each month, as long as your subscription remains active. The subscription gives you access to your Evaluation account, the trading platform, and the included market data.
Once the Trading Objectives of the Evaluation are evaluated as passed, the subscription is cancelled, and no additional payments are charged. This means you won’t be charged for the Sim-Funded Account or Live Funded Account.
There is no activation fee, and there are no hidden fees beyond the subscription.
More information about the pricing can be found in our pricing table or on our Trading Objectives and Rules page, in the Fee section.

PremierFTMO Futures · How do the FTMO and FTMO US Affiliate Programmes differ?updatedFuturesArticle heading changed from "Trade with up to 3 funded accounts" to "Unlimited Evaluation Accounts" with subheading changed to "Trade with up to 3 Sim-Funded accounts".Sep 22
Each programme runs its own level, calculated in its own currency, from its own commissions. The two never combine: your FTMO commissions cannot push up your FTMO US level or vice versa. Within each programme, both products count toward that programme’s level. Commission rates by level are identical in both programmes. The thresholds, currencies and payout methods differ as shown throughout this FAQ.
Because FTMO tracks in EUR and converts Futures orders from USD while FTMO US tracks natively in USD, equivalent sales can show slightly different figures in the two dashboard views.
Eligibility and restricted countries
For the list of countries restricted from FTMO, see the FTMO eligibility FAQ. For the list of countries restricted from FTMO US, see the FTMO US eligibility FAQ.

PremierFTMO Futures · What are the key promotional rules I must follow?updatedFuturesArticle title changed to "Unlimited Evaluation Accounts" and "funded accounts" changed to "Sim-Funded accounts".Sep 22
- No brand bidding in paid ads: you may not bid on FTMO-branded keywords (for example ‘FTMO’, ‘FTMO US’, ‘FTMO Challenge’, ‘FTMO Futures’) in any paid advertising campaigns. This is considered a serious violation.
- No brand impersonation: you must not create websites, social media profiles or advertisements that could mislead users into believing they are official FTMO channels.
- No false claims about FTMO’s products or about discounts: misleading advertising can result in the termination of your Affiliate profile.
Using your rewards
When you receive a free FTMO product as a reward, you can use it yourself or give it away to your friends or followers. From the moment you receive the reward, any plan to use it as a giveaway, for example a contest, raffle or promotion, must first be reviewed and approved by the Affiliate Manager.

PremierFTMO Futures · In which currency are my commissions calculated and paid?updatedFuturesSection heading changed from "Trade with up to 3 funded accounts" to "Unlimited Evaluation Accounts" with subtext changed to "Trade with up to 3 Sim-Funded accounts".Sep 22
Your commissions are calculated and tracked in each programme’s currency: EUR in FTMO, USD in FTMO US.
FTMO Challenges are priced in each programme’s own currency, so no conversion is applied in either programme.
FTMO Futures is priced in USD everywhere, and what happens next differs by programme.
In the FTMO programme, a Futures order is converted from USD to EUR using the rate valid on the day the order is created, and your commission is calculated from that EUR amount. At payout, your balance converts from EUR into your chosen payout currency at the rate current at withdrawal. Two separate rates can therefore apply across a single commission: the order date rate sets the amount your commission is calculated from, and the payout date rate sets what you receive, so the final amount may differ slightly from a direct percentage of the price shown to the trader. Your FTMO level thresholds are also set in EUR while Futures is priced in USD, so exchange rate movement can affect where your monthly total sits relative to a threshold.
In FTMO US there is no conversion at any point: your commission is calculated directly from the USD order value and paid in USD, so the amount you see when a commission is approved is the amount you are paid.

- The 12-month commission period runs from that trader’s first FTMO Futures purchase, through any affiliate, not from the date you originally referred them. A trader you referred two years ago starts their 12-month period with their first Futures purchase, and that period never restarts.
- Subscription and Account Reset commissions accrue at your level rates in force when each payment lands, and count toward your monthly level total as normal.
- FTMO Futures country availability still applies.
This also works the other way around: if you referred a trader for FTMO Futures and they later buy an FTMO Challenge, that purchase attributes to you and earns commission in exactly the same way.
No action is needed on your side. Attribution follows your existing referral automatically.

PremierFTMO Futures · How does attribution work for FTMO Futures referrals?updatedFuturesSection heading changed from "Trade with up to 3 funded accounts" to "Unlimited Evaluation Accounts" with subtitle "Trade with up to 3 Sim-Funded accounts" and "simulated capital" terminology clarified.Sep 22
Only a code can do this. A trader who already has an FTMO account is not re-attributed by clicking another affiliate’s link, because links attribute a trader once, when their FTMO account is created. For a trader who already had an account before, another affiliate’s code affects that one Futures account only and does not change who the trader is attributed to for FTMO Challenges. A brand-new trader is different: if their very first purchase is an FTMO Futures Evaluation bought with your code, that code pairs them to you as a trader, so their later purchases, FTMO Challenges included, are attributed to you too.
If a trader buys a new Evaluation without entering any code, the account is attributed to the affiliate who originally referred them.
Attribution is decided only at the moment a new Evaluation account is purchased. Renewals and Account Resets always follow the account they belong to and cannot be moved to another affiliate.
Example: a trader you referred buys a $50K Evaluation. You earn commission on all its renewals and Account Resets. Six months later the same trader buys a $150K Evaluation and enters another affiliate’s code. The $150K account is attributed to the other affiliate. The $50K account and everything it produces stay with you until the trader’s 12-month commission period ends.
This applies to FTMO Futures only. FTMO Challenge referrals work as before: the trader is attributed to the affiliate whose link they used, and you earn a one-time commission on their first Challenge purchase.
