Rule Radar

Prop Firm Rule Changes. Tracked Daily.

Your morning update on futures prop firm rule changes, refreshed overnight.

We track the published rules and policies of 29 futures prop firms and keep every version, so when a firm edits a rule we have the before and after in writing. Most of what changes is really nothing: a fixed typo, a clarified sentence, a word added here and there. But real changes stand out fast, and you can literally watch rules and policies tighten line by line. Payout terms creep, consistency thresholds drop, and prices quietly climb. It works the other way too: sometimes payouts improve and rules loosen, and when that happens it’s usually one of our Premier firms.

Most of the tightening shows up on the Unlisted side, firms we track but haven’t listed on PickAPropFirm.com. When a firm with a rough reputation starts gaining traction on rock-bottom prices, promoted by affiliates who would scam their own grandma for a commission, the discount usually costs you somewhere else, and that somewhere shows up here. If a plan looks too good to be true, it almost always is.

Starred changes are the ones we think deserve your attention; the full feed below is everything we caught, right down to the typo fixes.

Treat this page like your morning paper. It updates overnight, so grab your coffee and see what changed. – Jmu (@jmutrades)

+ If you pass multiple straight-to-live evaluations, one will be activated at a time until the drawdown has been locked or the account is blown.
+ Example:
+ A trader passes 5 Core S2L accounts. On day 1, the trader logs in and will see all 5 accounts assigned to them. Only the first account will be available for trading.
+ To unlock the remaining accounts, the first active account must lock the drawdown or the account must be blown. This will be repeated until the trader has activated all 5 S2L accounts.
+ Nothing needs to be done to unlock the next account. A risk manager will unlock the account during business hours. If you think you are eligible to unlock the next account and it has not yet been unlocked, please reach out to our support staff.

No. The consistency percentage is not calculated based on your account size or account balance. It is calculated based on your profits.
- For example, if you have a $100K account, the 40% rule does not mean you are capped at making 40% of the account size ($40,000) in a single day
- It means your best trading day cannot represent more than 40% of the total profits you are trying to withdraw or use for scale-up eligibility.
+ For example, if you have a $100K account, the 50% rule does not mean you are capped at making 50% of the account size ($50,000) in a single day.
+ It means your best trading day cannot represent more than 50% of the total profits you are trying to withdraw or use for scale-up eligibility.
  Quick example
- If your account has a 40% Consistency Rule:
+ If your account has a 50% Consistency Rule:
  - Best trading day: $5,000
- - Required total profit: $12,500
- - Because: $5,000 ÷ 40% = $12,500
- If your total profit is below $12,500, you need to continue trading until your total profit reaches the required amount.
+ - Required total profit: $10,000
+ (Because: $5,000 ÷ 50% = $10,000)
+ If your total profit is below $10,000, you need to continue trading until your total profit reaches the required amount.

  Three Types of Drawdown
- Drawdown determines the minimum balance you must maintain in your trading account to keep it active.
- Traders enrolled in the Trader Career Path® will encounter three types of drawdown at various stages of their trading journey. Traders enrolled in the Gauntlet Mini™ will encounter two types of drawdown at various stages of their trading journey.
- - End-of-Day Drawdown - Calculates and updates your minimum balance based on closed positions at the end of each trading day. It is used in all evaluation accounts and funded LiveSim® accounts.
- - Trailing Drawdown - Calculates and updates your minimum balance continuously, based on both open and closed positions throughout the trading day. It is used in Live accounts.
- - Fixed Drawdown - Sets the minimum balance at a fixed level that never changes. It applies upon reaching the largest funded trading account in the selected Trader Career Path® plan: $200,000 for the TCP25, with the minimum balance fixed at $194,000, and $400,000 for the TCP50 and TCP100, with the minimum balance fixed at $388,000.
- Notes:
- - For traders who choose a LiveSim® account after passing the Trader Career Path® evaluation, LiveSim® is only available until they reach the profit target designated for their account size and withdraw their share. After that, they must scale up to the next Live account size.
- - For traders who choose a LiveSim® account after passing the Gauntlet Mini™ evaluation, LiveSim® is only available until they make their first $5,000 (minus the profit split). After that, they must switch to a Live account.
- - While the End-of-Day Drawdown is updated at the end of each trading day, traders can still lose their evaluation or funded trading account if their open equity falls below the minimum balance in real time.
+ Drawdown determines the minimum balance you must maintain in your trading account. If your account balance dips below this number, the evaluation fails.
+ - End-of-Day Drawdown - Calculated based on the end-of-day balance and pegged to positive account performance. It adjusts upwards as your profit increases until the maximum drawdown reaches the starting balance. Open equity losses are also considered during the day. This drawdown type applies to evaluation accounts and LiveSim® accounts.
+ - Trailing Drawdown - Increases dollar-for-dollar with your positive account performance during the trading day until it reaches the starting balance. This applies to Live accounts.
+ - Fixed Drawdown - A static minimum balance that never changes. This applies exclusively to the $200,000 and $400,000 funded accounts on the Trader Career Path®.

updatedPremierThe5ers · How is the Consistency Rule Calculated?2026-08-10 · +12 / -17 lines

Read the live article · All The5ers changes

- The basic formula is:
- (Best trading day ÷ Total profits) × 100 = Consistency percentage
- To meet the rule, your best trading day must be equal to or lower than the allowed percentage.
- For example, if your account has a 50% Consistency Rule, your best trading day must not be more than 50% of your total profits.
- Example based on the 50% Consistency Rule
- - Best trading day: $1,500
- - Consistency limit: 50%
- - Required total profit:
- - $1,500 ÷ 50% = $3,000
- This means that if your best trading day is $1,500, your total profit must be at least $3,000 for that day to represent 50% or less of your total profits.
- If your total profit is only $1,500 and all of it came from one day, you are not eligible yet. You would need to continue trading and increase your total profits.
- Example based on the 30% Consistency Rule
- - Best trading day: $1,500
- - Consistency limit: 30%
- - Required total profit:
- - $1,500 ÷ 30% = $5,000
- This means that if your best trading day is $1,500, your total profit must be at least $5,000 for that day to represent 30% or less of your total profits.
+ The Consistency Rule ensures trading performance is spread out over time rather than relying on a single trade. It is calculated using your total profits, not your account size:
+ Consistency Percentage Formula: (Best Trading Day Profit ÷ Total Profits) × 100 = Consistency Percentage
+ To qualify for a payout or scale-up, your best trading day must account for 40% or less of your total profit.
+ How to Calculate Your Required Total Profit: Best Trading Day Profit ÷ 0.40 = Required Total Profit
+ Example (40% Consistency Rule):
+ -
+ Best Trading Day: $1,500
+ -
+ Calculation: $1,500 ÷ 0.40 = $3,750
+ -
+ Requirement: Your total account profit must be at least $3,750.
+ If your total profit is currently $2,000, your best day ($1,500) represents 75% of your gains. You are not penalized—you simply need to continue trading to build your total profit until your best day accounts for 40% or less of the total.
updatedPremierThe5ers · What Happens if My Best Trading Day Is Above the Allowed Percentage?2026-08-10 · +27 / -16 lines

Read the live article · All The5ers changes

- Your account does not fail.
- It simply means you are not eligible for a payout or scale-up yet. You need to continue trading and increase your total profits until your best trading day becomes equal to or lower than the allowed consistency percentage.
- Example based on the 50% rule:
- - Best trading day: $2,000
- - Current total profit: $2,900
- - Calculation: $2,000 ÷ $2,900 × 100 = 68.96%
- Since 68.96% is higher than 50%, the trader does not meet the rule yet.
- Required total profit: $2,000 ÷ 50% = $4,000
- So, the trader needs to increase total profits to at least $4,000 for the best trading day to represent 50% or less.
- What happens after I make more profit?
+ Your account does not fail or get breached.
+ It simply means you are not eligible for a payout or scale-up yet. You just need to continue trading and accumulate total profits until your best trading day represents 40% or less of your overall profits.
+ Example (40% Consistency Rule):
+ -
+ Best trading day: $2,000
+ -
+ Current total profit: $2,900
+ -
+ Current calculation: ($2,000 ÷ $2,900) × 100 = 68.96%
+ Since 68.96% is higher than 40%, the trader is not eligible yet.
+ Calculating the Required Profit:
+ -
+ Formula: Best Trading Day ÷ 0.40 = Required Total Profit
+ -
+ Calculation: $2,000 ÷ 0.40 = $5,000
+ The trader needs to reach at least $5,000 in total profits for their $2,000 best day to meet the 40% threshold.
+ What happens after making more profit?
  Using the same example:
- - Best trading day: $2,000
- - Current total profit: $2,900
- - The trader then makes another $1,100 in accumulated profitable trades.
- - New total profit: $2,900 + $1,100 = $4,000
- - New calculation: $2,000 ÷ $4,000 × 100 = 50%
- Now the trader meets the 50% Consistency Rule.
+ -
+ Best trading day: $2,000
+ -
+ Current total profit: $2,900
+ -
+ Additional profit made: $2,100 across subsequent trades
+ -
+ New total profit: $2,900 + $2,100 = $5,000
+ New calculation: ($2,000 ÷ $5,000) × 100 = 40%
+ Now the best trading day represents exactly 40% of total profits, making the account fully eligible.

No. The consistency percentage is not calculated based on your account size or account balance. It is calculated based on your profits.
- For example, if you have a $100K account, the 40% rule does not mean you can only make 50% of the account size in one day.
+ For example, if you have a $100K account, the 40% rule does not mean you are capped at making 40% of the account size ($40,000) in a single day
It means your best trading day cannot represent more than 40% of the total profits you are trying to withdraw or use for scale-up eligibility.
  Quick example
- If your account has a 50% Consistency Rule:
+ If your account has a 40% Consistency Rule:

+ NEW: Range Bars
+ Range Bars
+ 👉 Let price — not the clock — decide when a bar prints, so trends, consolidation, and breakouts stand out without the noise of time-based charts.
+ What it shows
+ Each Range Bar represents a fixed price move instead of a fixed slice of time. A new bar prints only when price travels your chosen range (say, 10 ticks) — no move, no new bar, no matter how much time passes. Quiet stretches compress into a few bars; strong moves stretch into a long run of them.
+ How do I add Range Bars? Range Bars live inside the Advanced Charts (Beta) component. Press the plus sign to add a component, then drag Advanced Charts (Beta) into your layout.
+ What you'll see
+ - Long run of same-color bars — a real trend, completing bars quickly.
+ - Alternating bars in a tight zone — consolidation. Price isn't committing to a direction.
+ - Bars printing faster — volatility is rising, common around news or the session open.
+ - Bars slowing down — price has stalled.
+ - A clean break from a tight cluster — a shift from balance to directional bars.
+ - Trendlines, channels, and support/resistance tend to line up more consistently than on a time chart.
+ Where it fits
+ Range Bars work on any futures contract, on intraday charts. Range size is adjustable per instrument, since a fixed tick count behaves differently across contracts.
+ 👉 Please note: Range Bars have been launched in Beta as a real-time chart type. Bars build forward from when you open the chart — you can't scroll back to bars that printed before, and reloading or switching symbols starts the build fresh. Historical data (rebuilding past bars from tick history) is planned for a future release.
+ Range Bars FAQs
+ Why does my data reset?
+ Beta data resets daily, on top of any reload, symbol switch, or connection drop.
+ Can I customize my settings?
+ Yes. At launch you can choose from 4 chart types and 7 ranges (plus a custom range), and you can change bar color, line color, and timezone.
+ Can I link my chart?
+ Yes, using the link control in the top-left corner of the component.
+ Can I add indicators to Advanced Charts?
+ Not at this time. Because it's a custom chart, a number of things aren't available yet, including indicators, drawing tools, and right-click to place chart orders.
+ How do I sync the crosshairs from my main chart?
+ You can't. Crosshair syncing between your main chart and Advanced Charts isn't supported.

  Eligibility for a payout
To request a payout on your funded Elite account, you must:
- - Have completed at least 5 minimum profitable trading days in the current payout cycle. Each day must show a net profit above the minimum PnL threshold for your account size (see table below).
+ - Have completed at least 6 minimum profitable trading days in the current payout cycle. Each day must show a net profit above the minimum PnL threshold for your account size (see table below).
  - Have at least $1 of net profit in the current cycle. Your balance must be above the level it sat at after your previous payout, or above your starting balance if this is your first payout.
  - Have a completed KYC on file.

+ 150K Elite | 6 | $350 | $3,000
The payout cap is flat for every payout — there are no tiered caps that scale with payout number, and the cap does not scale linearly with account size. The Elite Challenge is designed so that traders looking to scale earnings do so by holding multiple funded accounts rather than by maximizing per-payout size on a single account.
  Profit split
The standard profit split on Elite funded accounts is 90% to the trader / 10% to FuturesElite. This is applied automatically at the time of payout. There is no need to purchase a split upgrade.
  Timing between payouts
- The minimum waiting time between payout requests is determined by the 5 trading day requirement. The trading day counter resets after each paid payout. Calendar time is not separately enforced. As soon as you have completed 5 new profitable trading days and your cycle is back in net profit (at least $1 above your post-previous-payout balance), you may request again.

To request a payout, your profits must exceed the buffer balance, which acts as a safety net to avoid hitting Max Loss Limit after a payout. You can not take payout from the buffer balance.
The buffer is equal to: Initial Max Loss Limit + $100

Important: If you take a trade before your payout is processed that drops your balance into the buffer, your request may be denied. Get more details at the bottom of this page.

We do not permit trading activity that relies on bots, algorithms, or any strategy that cannot be reliably executed in a true live trading setting. All trader activity must reflect genuine and repeatable trading behavior without technical manipulation. Violations of this policy may result in payout denial, reversion of profits to the day prior to the first violation flagged in account, and/or account closure.
This review process ensures consistency, protects the integrity of our programs, and prepares traders for successful long-term transitions into live trading accounts.

Questions

What is Rule Radar?

Rule Radar is our daily record of rule and policy changes across 29 futures prop firms. When a firm edits a rule, adds a page, or deletes one, the change shows up here with the exact lines that changed.

How often does it update?

Daily. New changes land by early morning US time, so check it like a morning paper.

Where does the data come from?

Straight from each firm’s own published pages. We keep every version and compare them line by line, so nothing here is secondhand.

What does a starred change mean?

A starred change is one we think actually matters, like payout terms, rule tightening, or pricing. Most edits are typos and clarifications, and those stay in the full feed above.
