Rule Radar

Prop Firm Rule Changes. Tracked Daily.

Your morning update on futures prop firm rule changes, refreshed overnight.

We track the published rules and policies of 29 futures prop firms and keep every version, so when a firm edits a rule we have the before and after in writing. Most of what changes is really nothing: a fixed typo, a clarified sentence, a word added here and there. But real changes stand out fast, and you can literally watch rules and policies tighten line by line. Payout terms creep, consistency thresholds drop, and prices quietly climb. It works the other way too: sometimes payouts improve and rules loosen, and when that happens it’s usually one of our Premier firms.

Most of the tightening shows up on the Unlisted side, firms we track but haven’t listed on PickAPropFirm.com. When a firm with a rough reputation starts gaining traction on rock-bottom prices, promoted by affiliates who would scam their own grandma for a commission, the discount usually costs you somewhere else, and that somewhere shows up here. If a plan looks too good to be true, it almost always is.

Starred changes are the ones we think deserve your attention; the full feed below is everything we caught, right down to the typo fixes.

Treat this page like your morning paper. It updates overnight, so grab your coffee and see what changed. – Jmu (@jmutrades)

+ EFFECTIVE FOR S2L ACCOUNTS PASSED ON OR AFTER 8/12/26
+ If you pass multiple straight-to-live evaluations, one will be activated at a time until the drawdown has been locked or the account is blown.
+ Example:
+ A trader passes 5 Core S2L accounts. On day 1, the trader logs in and will see all 5 accounts assigned to them. Only the first account will be available for trading.
+ To unlock the remaining accounts, the first active account must lock the drawdown or the account must be blown. This will be repeated until the trader has activated all 5 S2L accounts.
+ Nothing needs to be done to unlock the next account. A risk manager will unlock the account during business hours. If you think you are eligible to unlock the next account and it has not yet been unlocked, please reach out to our support staff.

No. The consistency percentage is not calculated based on your account size or account balance. It is calculated based on your profits.
- For example, if you have a $100K account, the 40% rule does not mean you are capped at making 40% of the account size ($40,000) in a single day
- It means your best trading day cannot represent more than 40% of the total profits you are trying to withdraw or use for scale-up eligibility.
+ For example, if you have a $100K account, the 50% rule does not mean you are capped at making 50% of the account size ($50,000) in a single day.
+ It means your best trading day cannot represent more than 50% of the total profits you are trying to withdraw or use for scale-up eligibility.
  Quick example
- If your account has a 40% Consistency Rule:
+ If your account has a 50% Consistency Rule:
  - Best trading day: $5,000
- - Required total profit: $12,500
- - Because: $5,000 ÷ 40% = $12,500
- If your total profit is below $12,500, you need to continue trading until your total profit reaches the required amount.
+ - Required total profit: $10,000
+ (Because: $5,000 ÷ 50% = $10,000)
+ If your total profit is below $10,000, you need to continue trading until your total profit reaches the required amount.

+ Manual Lockout is now available on Tradovate Prop.
+ Account Lockout is a trader-controlled feature that pauses trading on a single account, independent of your other accounts. Think of it as a cooldown switch for the individual accounts that need it, not your entire lineup.
+ Here’s what happens when you lock an account:
+ - Positions on that account are closed (flattened).
+ - Working orders on that account are canceled.
+ - New orders on that account are rejected across platforms.
+ - Your other accounts keep trading, completely unaffected.
+ For more information on this feature, review the Tradovate Article here: Manual Lockout Tradovate Prop.

- Tradovate has an API Limit. On a 60-minute timeframe, users can only initiate up to 5000 unique actions. Placing, modifying, and canceling orders are each separate actions.
- - The maximum number of contracts per order is 100. If you trade in groups, the total number of contracts across all accounts cannot exceed 100 for the order.
- - When trading with groups, every trade on each account is seen as a separate action. Placing an order on 20 accounts will be counted as 20 distinct actions. Once you’ve reached this limit, no actions can be taken.
- - If you reach this limit, positions will not be automatically flattened by Tradovate or Apex, as managing positions remains the trader’s responsibility. However, Tradovate Support can assist with resetting the API limit so you can manage your positions. To request a reset, please contact [email protected] with the subject line “Apex Account – Request Limit Reset,” and include your Tradovate username. You can also reach them via phone or chat at https://www.tradovate.com/support/.
- - Please Note: Neither Tradovate nor Apex can flatten your accounts automatically. Position management remains the responsibility of each trader.
- - A limit of five accounts is visible on the mobile platform.
- DISCLAIMER NOTE: This is a Tradovate rule and cannot be controlled by Apex Trader Funding. Violating this limit and losing your account will NOT result in a free reset or balance change, or account restoration.

+ A request can include actions such as logging in to Tradovate, opening platform modules, placing orders, modifying orders, or canceling orders. When trading with groups, actions performed across multiple accounts may generate separate requests for each account.
+ “Too Many Requests” error message
+ If you reach Tradovate’s request limit, you may see a “Too Many Requests” message, experience a blank workspace, or be unable to place, modify, or exit an order or position.
+ Tradovate’s request limit will automatically reset after a 60-minute cool-down period. Tradovate Support may also be able to reset the request limit so you can regain access sooner.

Questions

What is Rule Radar?

Rule Radar is our daily record of rule and policy changes across 29 futures prop firms. When a firm edits a rule, adds a page, or deletes one, the change shows up here with the exact lines that changed.

How often does it update?

Daily. New changes land by early morning US time, so check it like a morning paper.

Where does the data come from?

Straight from each firm’s own published pages. We keep every version and compare them line by line, so nothing here is secondhand.

What does a starred change mean?

A starred change is one we think actually matters, like payout terms, rule tightening, or pricing. Most edits are typos and clarifications, and those stay in the full feed above.
