Your morning update on futures prop firm rule changes, refreshed overnight.
We track the published rules and policies of 32 futures prop firms and keep every version, so when a firm edits a rule we have the before and after in writing. Most of what changes is really nothing: a fixed typo, a clarified sentence, a word added here and there. But real changes stand out fast, and you can literally watch rules and policies tighten line by line. Payout terms creep, consistency thresholds drop, and prices quietly climb. It works the other way too: sometimes payouts improve and rules loosen, and when that happens it’s usually one of our Premier firms.
Most of the tightening shows up on the Unlisted side, firms we track but haven’t listed on PickAPropFirm.com. When a firm with a rough reputation starts gaining traction on rock-bottom prices, promoted by affiliates who would scam their own grandma for a commission, the discount usually costs you somewhere else, and that somewhere shows up here. If a plan looks too good to be true, it almost always is.
Starred changes are the ones we think deserve your attention; the full feed below is everything we caught, right down to the typo fixes.
Treat this page like your morning paper. It updates overnight, so grab your coffee and see what changed. – Jmu (@jmutrades)
We split that step out and call it the Buffer Zone. It is where you build the balance that carries into your Sim Funded account, and it is deliberately gentler than the evaluation you just passed: a smaller target and no daily loss limit.
Account size | Profit target | Drawdown | Consistency | Largest single day
And if you fail it, you reset the Buffer Zone on its own. Your evaluation still stands — you never go back to the beginning. Resets are $250 each for the first three, then $300 for resets four to six, $350 for seven to nine, and so on. If your Buffer Zone had already passed into Sim Funded, a reset is $500. These are the Propel Buffer Zone reset prices.
Phase 3 — Sim Funded
Your account is still simulated, but the profits are real and you can withdraw them. There is no profit target here — the job is to keep trading well.
Payouts can be requested daily, Monday to Friday, on any balance above your starting balance. Requests made before 11am ET are processed the same trading day. While Sim Funded, stop trading for the day once you are $5,000 up and for the week once you are $10,000 up — passing $10,000 in total profit triggers a review for Live Brokerage, where the caps come off entirely.
Nothing is charged during this phase. Your subscription ended at the evaluation.
How the consistency rule works
The consistency rule keeps your biggest day in proportion to the rest of your trading. We compare your largest single profitable day against the sum of your profitable days. Losing days are left out of the calculation entirely — many firms divide by your net profit instead, which shrinks the number you are measured against and makes the rule harder to satisfy.
Here is a week counted both ways. Say you made $1,000 on Monday, $900 on Tuesday, lost $600 on Wednesday, then made $900 on Thursday and $600 on Friday:
- At BluSky we add up your profitable days: $1,000 + $900 + $900 + $600 = $3,400. Your biggest day of $1,000 is 29.4% of that — inside the 34% rule. ✅
- Counting net profit instead subtracts the losing day: $3,400 − $600 = $2,800. The same $1,000 day is now 35.7% — outside the same rule. ❌
The 300K works to a 21% rule instead, so the same week would need your profit spread across more days to comply.
Being out of consistency does not fail your account. It is checked when you request a payout or try to pass a phase, and you fix it by trading on — every additional profitable day grows the total you are measured against and brings your percentage down.
Resetting a Propel evaluation
Most traders do not pass first time. A reset clears the days traded, the balance and the rules by creating a fresh evaluation account, so you can try again without buying a new plan.

Both options share the same risk logic. Option 1 uses the trailing drawdown. Option 2 uses the end-of-day drawdown together with a daily loss limit and has no scaling plan.
On both options the drawdown follows the balance upward and then stops for good once it reaches the starting balance plus $100. From that point it is a fixed floor and no longer moves.
On Option 2 the daily loss limit stays active for the whole life of the account and is never lifted. The $25,000 Option 2 account is the exception: it has no daily loss limit.

− Yes. If a trader you referred for FTMO Challenges later purchases FTMO Futures, that purchase, and every later Futures purchase they make, attributes to you automatically and earns you commission, even if you referred them before Futures launched. The one exception is a purchase where they enter another affiliate’s code, in which case that specific account belongs to the other affiliate and everything else stays with you.
The mechanics work exactly as for any other Futures referral:
- The 12-month commission period runs from that trader’s first FTMO Futures purchase, through any affiliate, not from the date you originally referred them. A trader you referred two years ago starts their 12-month period with their first Futures purchase, and that period never restarts.
− - Subscription and Account Reset commissions accrue at your level rates in force when each payment lands, and count toward your monthly level total as normal.
- FTMO Futures country availability still applies.
− This also works the other way around: if you referred a trader for FTMO Futures and they later buy an FTMO Challenge, that purchase attributes to you and earns commission in exactly the same way.
No action is needed on your side. Attribution follows your existing referral automatically.

How does attribution work for FTMO Futures referrals?
How does attribution work for FTMO Futures referrals?
Attribution for FTMO Futures works per Evaluation account.
When a trader you referred buys an FTMO Futures Evaluation, that account is attributed to you. You earn commission on the first subscription payment, every subscription renewal and every Account Reset on that account, for as long as the trader’s 12-month commission period is running. Any further Evaluation the same trader buys is attributed to you automatically as well, with no new link or code needed, unless they enter another affiliate’s code at checkout.
Affiliate codes take priority over affiliate links at checkout. If a trader enters another affiliate’s code when buying a new Evaluation, that new account is attributed to the other affiliate. Accounts already attributed to you are not affected and stay with you.
Section: How does attribution work for FTMO Futures referrals?
− Only a code can do this. A trader who already has an FTMO account is not re-attributed by clicking another affiliate’s link, because links attribute a trader once, when their FTMO account is created. For a trader who already had an account before, another affiliate’s code affects that one Futures account only and does not change who the trader is attributed to for FTMO Challenges. A brand-new trader is different: if their very first purchase is an FTMO Futures Evaluation bought with your code, that code pairs them to you as a trader, so their later purchases, FTMO Challenges included, are attributed to you too.
If a trader buys a new Evaluation without entering any code, the account is attributed to the affiliate who originally referred them.
Attribution is decided only at the moment a new Evaluation account is purchased. Renewals and Account Resets always follow the account they belong to and cannot be moved to another affiliate.
Example: a trader you referred buys a $50K Evaluation. You earn commission on all its renewals and Account Resets. Six months later the same trader buys a $150K Evaluation and enters another affiliate’s code. The $150K account is attributed to the other affiliate. The $50K account and everything it produces stay with you until the trader’s 12-month commission period ends.
− This applies to FTMO Futures only. FTMO Challenge referrals work as before: the trader is attributed to the affiliate whose link they used, and you earn a one-time commission on their first Challenge purchase.

A brand-new trader is different: if their very first purchase is an FTMO Futures Evaluation bought with your code, that code pairs them to you as a trader, so their later purchases, FTMO Challenges included, are attributed to you too.
+ Only a code can do this. A trader who already has an FTMO account is not re-attributed by clicking another affiliate’s link, because links attribute a trader once, when their FTMO account is created. For a trader who already had an account before, another affiliate’s code affects that one Futures account only and does not change who the trader is attributed to for the FTMO Challenge and FTMO Instant Account. A brand-new trader is different: if their very first purchase is an FTMO Futures Evaluation bought with your code, that code pairs them to you as a trader, so their later purchases, FTMO Challenge and FTMO Instant Account included, are attributed to you too.
+ This applies to FTMO Futures only. FTMO Challenge and FTMO Instant Account referrals are attributed by link: the trader is attributed to the affiliate whose link they used, and you earn a one-time commission on their first purchase of each product (1-Step FTMO Challenge, 2-Step FTMO Challenge and FTMO Instant Account).

Your affiliate code is a second way to receive credit for FTMO Futures referrals, alongside your affiliate link. Every affiliate has one from the start: it is your affiliate hash, the randomly generated 20-character code already contained in your affiliate link, for example xK9pQ2mVb7Lc4TnR8sWy, and you can copy it from your Affiliate Dashboard.
Affiliates at Silver level and above can choose a custom code of their own, and once created, a custom code stays active regardless of your level afterwards.
Traders enter the code in the Affiliate code field at FTMO Futures checkout when buying a new Evaluation, separate from the Discount field. The account, including its subscription renewals and Account Resets, is then attributed to you even if the trader did not arrive through your link.
The affiliate code does not change the price. It is not a discount code: discounts go in the separate Discount field, and a trader can use both an affiliate code and a discount code on the same order. The affiliate code’s only purpose is to credit the account to you.

− FTMO Futures is sold as a recurring monthly Evaluation subscription rather than a one-time purchase, so it pays differently than FTMO Challenges. The mechanics below are the same in the FTMO and FTMO US programmes.
Recurring subscription commission. You earn a commission on every monthly Evaluation subscription payment your referred trader makes, at your subscription rate for your current level.
When the subscription ends. The Evaluation subscription is charged on the trader’s billing anniversary for as long as it stays active, and it ends in one of these ways:
- They pass the Evaluation. The subscription is cancelled automatically and no further payments are charged, because the Sim-Funded Account and the Live Funded Account are not subscription products. Commission on that trader’s subscription stops at that point.
- They cancel. Billing stops at the end of the period already paid for.
- A payment fails. Access is paused, and if it is not resolved within the grace period the account is closed.
Futures Account Resets. If a referred trader fails their Evaluation, they can purchase an Account Reset to start again. Every Account Reset earns you commission at half your subscription rate for that level.
The 12-month commission period. You earn FTMO Futures commissions on each referred trader for 12 months from the date of that trader’s first FTMO Futures Evaluation purchase, whichever affiliate it was attributed to, or none. The period is counted per trader, not per account: it starts once, with the trader’s very first Futures purchase, and does not restart when they buy further Evaluations, use a different affiliate code, or are referred by someone else. During the period you earn on all subscription renewals and Account Resets on accounts attributed to you. After 12 months, no further commissions are credited for that trader on any account.
Both subscription and Account Reset commissions count toward your monthly commission total for levelling. Recurring subscription commissions and Account Resets apply to FTMO Futures only.

− The affiliate level system rewards consistent performance over time. Your level is determined by the total commissions you generate within a calendar month, and commissions from FTMO Challenges and FTMO Futures count together. Updates are applied on the 18th day of the following month.
The core of the system is a three-month period. When you reach a new level, you keep its benefits and commission rates for the next three months. During this period, one of the following can occur based on your performance in any given calendar month:
− - Level Up: You advance if you meet the requirements for a higher tier, starting a new three-month period at that level.
− - Renew Level: You maintain your level by meeting its requirements again. Renewing Gold or Platinum also grants a free FTMO Challenge.
− - Level Down: If you do not meet the criteria to renew or advance within three months, your level adjusts based on your best-performing month.
− Commission model (rates identical in both programmes, thresholds shown as FTMO / FTMO US):
Levels are calculated per programme: your FTMO level from FTMO commissions in EUR, your FTMO US level from FTMO US commissions in USD.
− At Silver level or above, you can choose a custom affiliate code (for example, your brand name), which traders enter at FTMO Futures checkout instead of your default code. Simply request it from the affiliate team and they will create it for you. Since a new Evaluation account is attributed to whichever code the trader enters at purchase, a memorable code is the most direct way to make sure new accounts land with you.

− - FTMO Challenges: a one-time commission on the trader’s first Challenge purchase, from 8% at Bronze up to 20% at Platinum.
+ You earn commissions when a trader referred through your affiliate link or code makes a qualifying purchase. Your affiliate link covers all our products: 1-Step and 2-Step FTMO Challenge, FTMO Instant Account and FTMO Futures. Your affiliate code can currently be entered at FTMO Futures checkout only.
+ - FTMO Challenge and FTMO Instant Account: a one-time commission on the trader’s first purchase of each product, so their first 1-Step FTMO Challenge, first 2-Step FTMO Challenge and first FTMO Instant Account each earn you a commission, from 8% at Bronze up to 20% at Platinum.
- FTMO Futures Evaluations: a recurring commission on every monthly Evaluation subscription payment your referred trader makes (capped at 12 months for this commission), from 10% at Bronze up to 18% at Platinum. You also earn on every Futures Account Reset they purchase (same cap applies), calculated at 50% of your current level (5% at Bronze, 6% at Silver, 7.5% at Gold and 9% at Platinum).
Commissions on subscription renewals and Account Resets are credited to the affiliate the account is attributed to. Attribution is decided when a new Evaluation account is purchased and does not change afterwards.
− Commission rates are identical in the FTMO and FTMO US programmes. Your rates depend on your partner level in each programme, based on the total commissions you generate within a calendar month across both products. All affiliates start at Bronze and can progress through Silver, Gold and Platinum.

PremierFTMO Futures · Are there country restrictions for affiliates and referred clients?updatedFuturesFTMO Futures availability scope updated to reference FTMO Challenge and FTMO Instant Account; commission structure and FAQ heading also changed.Oct 12
Before
FTMO Futures availability is narrower than FTMO Challenges
After
FTMO Futures availability is narrower than for the FTMO Challenge and FTMO Instant Account
Are there country restrictions for affiliates and referred clients?
Yes, and the same restrictions apply on both sides of the programme: if FTMO cannot provide services to someone as a client, we also cannot pay them as an affiliate. Referred orders from restricted countries do not generate commissions, and affiliates residing in restricted countries cannot receive payouts.
Who can become a partner
The Affiliate Programme has two restrictions of its own, on top of the client restrictions: residents and nationals of Vietnam and Pakistan cannot join the Affiliate Programme. Clients from these countries can still be referred, subject to the product availability below. The restriction applies to becoming a partner.
Who can be referred, and where the authoritative lists live
The restricted-country lists are maintained in the eligibility FAQs, and this entry deliberately does not duplicate them, so there is exactly one place to keep current:
- For FTMO clients: Who can join FTMO?
- For FTMO US clients: Who can join FTMO US?
- For FTMO Futures specifically: Who can join FTMO Futures?
Those pages carry the full list of countries where FTMO does not provide services, the categorical exclusions, and the conditional exceptions for nationals of Iran, Syria and Myanmar.
United States eligibility scope (FTMO US)
For the purposes of eligibility, the United States includes the 50 states as well as the following U.S. territories: American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, United States Minor Outlying Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. However, we do not currently accept entities from Arkansas, Delaware, Louisiana, Montana, or South Carolina.
Section: FTMO Futures availability is narrower than for the FTMO Challenge and FTMO Instant Account
− FTMO Futures availability is narrower than FTMO Challenges
FTMO Futures is available to individuals only: companies, legal entities, businesses and self-employed registrations are not accepted, so a company cannot be referred to FTMO Futures.
Futures access also differs by country, and for what you can earn there are three cases:
- FTMO Futures available: subscription and Account Reset commissions apply. Some of these countries allow a Sim-Funded Account but not a Live Funded Account, but that difference affects the trader’s journey, not your commissions.
− - FTMO Challenges only: no FTMO Futures at all, so Challenge commissions only.
- Fully restricted: no services, no commissions, and no affiliate payouts to residents.
The country lists are maintained in Who can join FTMO Futures? and can change, so always check there rather than assuming.

- Level 2 market data (Depth of Market – DOM) cannot be purchased on trading platform, when logged with an FTMO credentials.

What happens during the contract expiry?
Futures contracts have a fixed expiry date. As a contract approaches expiry, trading activity moves to the next active contract month.
Because FTMO Futures rules do not allow holding positions past the market close, there is no need for manual account rolling or transitioning open trades. You simply close your positions for the day as usual, and start trading the new active contract during your next session. Expiry dates and the current active contract are always displayed on your trading platform.
Note that the liquidity and trading conditions can become volatile as a contract nears its expiry, so it is good practice to monitor your positions closely around these dates.

What is the maximum number of contracts I can trade?
Each FTMO Futures account has a maximum number of contracts (the Max Contracts limit) you can hold at one time. On the Evaluation, the limit is 5 contracts on a 50K account, 10 on a 100K account, and 15 on a 150K account (the same for Growth and Pro).
On a Sim-Funded Account, you start with a lower base limit that can increase up to the same ceiling as you generate profit. More information about the Max Contracts Scaling can be found on the Trading Objectives and Rules page, in the Maximum Contracts section. Micro contracts count towards the limit at a reduced rate (1:10) compared with mini contracts.
If you try to exceed this limit, the platform will not allow you to open a position.

PremierFTMO Futures · How does the FTMO technical infrastructure work?updatedFuturesSection heading changed from "How do I become an FTMO Trader?" to "Who is an FTMO Trader, and how do I become one?Oct 12
FTMO Futures provides a simulated trading environment built on the NinjaTrader/Tradovate infrastructure, designed to mirror real futures market conditions as closely as possible.
Execution and market data
Trades are executed based on real market quotes and data sourced from the exchanges. However, on the Evaluation account and Sim-Funded Account, the trader only trades in a simulated environment, and their orders do not affect the symbol’s price. As on any platform, you may experience execution delays and slippage, which can be positive or negative.
Commissions
In line with market standards, simulated commissions apply to trades. The applicable commissions are shown on the platform.
Risk enforcement
The platform monitors your risk rules in real time and automatically liquidates positions if a rule is breached. FTMO receives this data to update your progress in the Client Area, which refreshes at the end of each trading day (after 4:10 p.m. ET).

With FTMO Futures, you can access a simulated trading environment and trade futures contracts (including Micro and Mini contracts) on instruments from the major CME Group exchanges. The full list of available instruments is published in this FAQ and shown on your trading platform.
Your trading style is up to you. As long as your trading is legitimate and in line with proper risk management, conforms to the real market conditions, and does not constitute Forbidden Trading Practices, we have no reasons for limiting or restricting your trading strategy, whether it’s discretionary trading, algorithmic trading or EAs. When trading, keep in mind that your trading style should be replicable on live accounts to generate the same results as on your Evaluation or Sim-Funded Account. We do not require you to use a Stop-loss, although it’s generally advisable to always have certain safety measures in place.
If you intend to use trading robots (Expert Advisors – EAs), keep in mind that if you use a third-party EA, other traders may already be using the same EA and therefore the same strategy. By using a third-party EA, you risk being denied the Sim-Funded Account, since no copy trading across registrations is allowed and FTMO requires you to use a unique strategy. Also, please keep in mind that the platform’s servers have an API limit on the number of orders per predefined time period.
Please beware of practices that have nothing in common with serious trading. If we identify such practice, we reserve our right to take the necessary action to mitigate risk. This might vary from removing the conflicting positions, rebalancing the account, or terminating the account completely and ceasing our cooperation altogether. You may refer to the Forbidden Trading Practices page for more information on what constitutes Forbidden Trading Practices. Please use our services with genuine intentions and show us your edge in the markets and consistency that you can be proud of.

What is 'Trading according to a real market'?
Trading must be legitimate, and traders must not use practices that they would not use if trading on a real market. A strategy is allowed as long as it does not interfere with legitimate trading, exploit the simulated environment, or constitute a Forbidden Trading Practice.
Please note that the Evaluation and Sim-Funded stages are simulated, using fictitious capital with market quotes based on the real market. We emulate the conditions of a real market and require proper risk management, because consistent, genuine trading is what may ultimately qualify you for a Live Funded Account with real capital.
We recommend that you familiarise yourself with Forbidden Trading Practices before you start.

What is the rule about trading within 2% of a CME price limit?
What is the rule about trading within 2% of a CME price limit?
A CME price limit is the maximum price range a futures contract can move within a trading day. When the limit is hit, the exchange may halt trading, expand the limit, or stop trading for the rest of the trading day, depending on the product. FTMO adds a 2% safety buffer before this limit, restricting traders from opening new positions on the affected instrument.
For example, for most equity index futures, the first CME limit is 7%, measured from the previous day’s settlement price. In this case, once the price moves more than 5% from the previous day’s settlement price, traders are not allowed to open new positions on the affected symbol.
The trader is solely responsible for monitoring the current price limits, which CME publishes and updates after each trading day on its official Price Limits page. If the rule is violated, FTMO has the right to terminate the trading account.

What is the difference between Balance and Equity?
What is the difference between Balance and Equity?
Balance represents the realised value of your account and changes only when a trade is closed. Open (unrealised) positions do not affect the Balance.
It is calculated as: balance = initial account balance + realised total net profit and loss
Equity represents the real-time value of your account and reflects its current value, including open positions. Equity fluctuates continuously based on the profit or loss of open trades.
It is calculated as: equity = balance + unrealised net profit and loss
Summary:
- Balance reflects results from closed trades only
- Equity reflects the actual current value of the account

PremierFTMO Futures · What are the Trading Objectives?updatedFuturesSection heading changed from "How do I become an FTMO Trader?" to "Who is an FTMO Trader, and how do I become one?Oct 12
Trading Objectives are the key rules that define when an account is violated or when the Evaluation is considered passed. All our Trading Objectives are described in detail on the Trading Objectives and Rules page, along with information about subscription payments and Account Reset.
Violation of the Trading Objectives
The Consistency Rule cannot be violated; it can always be passed later by generating additional profit.
What happens after the violation of Loss Limits (Maximum Drawdown and Daily Loss Limit) depends on whether you breach a soft or a hard Loss Limit.
- Soft violation: The platform closes your open positions and locks the account for the rest of the trading day. The account reopens for the next session, and you can continue trading.
- Hard violation: If you breach a hard risk rule, the platform automatically closes all your open positions, and the account is considered failed, and you lose the account.
After a hard violation on an Evaluation account, you have two options to continue:
- Purchase an Account Reset, which resets your account values, so you can start the Evaluation again under the same subscription at a reduced fee compared to the standard subscription payment. You can find more about the reset fee on the Trading Objectives and Rules page, in the Fees section. There is no limit on the number of resets you can purchase.
- Keep your subscription active. On your next renewal, we automatically issue a fresh Evaluation account.
You cannot reset a Sim-Funded Account. A hard violation there means you lose the account, and if you wish to continue, you have to purchase a new Evaluation.

Once you pass your Evaluation, the FTMO Identity section will be unlocked in your Client Area. In the FTMO Identity section, you will be able to save your personal details and related documentation and have them verified by our Onboarding Specialists. The compliance checks usually take less than 1 business day. Once all the information is verified by our compliance team, it will be securely stored in our system, ready to be used in case you wish to start using your Sim-Funded Account(s) or conclude a new FTMO Futures Sim-Funded Account Terms & Conditions.
To conclude the FTMO Futures Sim-Funded Account Terms & Conditions and subsequently invoice payouts as a natural person, you will need to complete a KYC verification:
For US Clients: If you are a legal US resident, you will first have the opportunity to verify your personal details quickly using your Social Security Number (SSN). If this automatic SSN verification fails for any reason, you will simply be redirected to complete the standard document-based KYC flow described below.
Note for US clients:
- As a legal US resident, you must have a valid U.S. Tax Identification Number (e.g. Social Security Number). Without the U.S. Tax Identification Number, you will not be able to receive a Payout.
- You will also be required to provide proof of ownership for the U.S. bank account where you wish to receive your Payout when requested. The bank must be a fully licensed and regulated banking institution. Fintech and digital-only payment institutions (e.g., Wise, Chime) are not accepted.
- Additionally, all FTMO Traders are required to submit a completed IRS Form (W-9) as part of the process for receiving their first payout.
Standard Document Verification – Global Clients & US Clients requiring manual review: You will be asked to provide:
- Valid government-issued ID document showing nationality – passport or ID card. In case your ID document is solely in one of the following languages, please use an international passport with the Latin alphabet transcription of information: Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Burmese, Dari, Dhivehi, Farsi, Georgian, Hindi, Khmer (Cambodian), Kinyarwanda, Lao, Mongolian, Nepali, Sinhalese, or Urdu. Note that we do not accept driving licences for non-US residents, residence permits, or other documents that do not display nationality.
- Proof of address – this must be a complete document containing your name, surname, residential address, and issuing date. Acceptable documents include: a bank statement, account statement, lease agreement, letter from a recognised public authority, or utility bill (gas, electricity, water, internet, etc.). Please ensure that your Proof of Address is no older than 6 months and clearly displays your full name, full residential address, and the issuing date.

You never actually trade on live markets at this stage – yet you are eligible for real monetary Payouts based on your results.

The term “FTMO Identity” refers to FTMO’s identity verification process using KYC (or KYB) methods. FTMO Futures currently supports individual (B2C) clients only, so business verification (KYB) is not available.
You complete the FTMO Identity (KYC verification) after you successfully pass your Evaluation, before you can progress to the Sim-Funded Account.
At that point, you will be asked to verify your identity and sign the FTMO Futures Sim-Funded Account Terms & Conditions. Once your verification is approved and you sign the Terms & Conditions, your Sim-Funded Account will be provided.

FTMO Futures offers two products that share the same single-phase Evaluation and the same 90/10 Payout Ratio, but differ in their conditions, risk rules, and pricing, so you can choose what fits your trading style. Both are available in 50K, 100K, and 150K sizes.
Both products use an End of Day (EOD) Trailing Max Drawdown and a 90/10 Payout Ratio at the Sim-Funded Account stage; the main differences are described below in the informative summary. To familiarise yourself with the full payout conditions and trading rules, see the Trading Objectives and Rules page.
Growth
The lower-priced option compared to the Pro Evaluation of the same size. It has no Daily Loss Limit during the Evaluation and a soft Daily Loss Limit on the Sim-Funded Account, so a daily breach does not automatically end the account. In each payout cycle, you can request a payout of up to 50% of the available profit in your Sim-Funded Account. The remaining profit stays in the account.
Pro
Built for experienced, disciplined traders. It uses a tighter, more demanding rule set with a hard Daily Loss Limit, in exchange for a better Profit Target-to-Max Drawdown ratio, higher payout caps, and full payout withdrawal in a single cycle. In each payout cycle, you can request a payout of up to 100% of the available profit in your Sim-Funded Account.

PremierFTMO Futures · How long does it take to become an FTMO Trader?updatedFuturesQuestion title changed from "How do I become an FTMO Trader?" to "Who is an FTMO Trader, and how do I become one?Oct 12
There is no minimum number of trading days, outside of those determined by the Consistency Rule, and no maximum time limit, so the pace is entirely up to you.
You simply need to reach your Profit Target and meet the applicable requirements without breaching your Max Drawdown or your Daily Loss Limit. The results of the Trading Objectives are confirmed after the end of the most recent trading day (after market close).
Considering the Consistency Rule, the minimum time to pass the Evaluation is:
- 3 trading days for Growth Evaluation
- 2 trading days for Pro Evaluation
Once all Trading Objectives are met and your trades have been reviewed, you complete FTMO Identity (KYC verification) and sign the FTMO Futures Sim-Funded Account Terms & Conditions, after which your Sim-Funded Account is provided, and you become an FTMO Trader. Because FTMO Futures runs on a monthly subscription, you can remain on Evaluation at your own pace for as long as your subscription remains active.

A Sim-Funded Account and a Live Funded Account are accounts in which the FTMO client may be eligible for monetary reward, provided the rules are followed.
The journey to becoming an FTMO Trader or an FTMO Live Funded Trader is as follows:
Phase 1: Evaluation
You trade on a simulated futures account and must meet all its Trading Objectives, such as the Profit Target and Consistency Rule, without breaching your Max Drawdown or Daily Loss Limit. There is no minimum number of trading days, except as required by the Consistency Rule. Eligibility to pass the Evaluation is assessed after the end of the trading day (4:10 p.m. ET).
Phase 2: Sim-Funded Account
Once you pass the Evaluation, you complete the FTMO Identity (KYC verification) and sign the FTMO Futures Sim-Funded Account Terms & Conditions with FTMO. You are then provided with a Sim-Funded Account and become an FTMO Trader, where you continue to trade in a simulated environment but become eligible to receive real monetary payouts based on your results. Eligibility to withdraw a payout is assessed after the end of the trading day (4:10 p.m. ET).
Phase 3: Live Funded Account
After building a track record of approved payouts, a small group of top-performing, consistent traders may be invited, at FTMO’s discretion, to trade an FTMO Futures Live Funded Account with real capital as an FTMO Live Funded Trader.
Availability
FTMO Futures is currently available to individuals only. A Live Funded Account is not granted based on any past trading track record.

The subscription gives you access to your Evaluation account, the trading platform, and the included market data. Once the Trading Objectives of the Evaluation are evaluated as passed, the subscription is cancelled, and no additional payments are charged. This means you won’t be charged for the Sim-Funded Account or Live Funded Account.
There is no activation fee, and there are no hidden fees beyond the subscription.
During the Evaluation, we also allow you to pay a Reset Fee, which returns your account to its original starting conditions. Please note that the Reset Fee does not change the Billing Day and is non-refundable.
More information about the pricing can be found in our pricing table or on our Trading Objectives and Rules page, in the Fee section.

Before you decide to start an Evaluation, we want to make sure that you understand how the process works and what is expected from you.
Choosing your product
After you sign up at https://futures.ftmo.com/en/, you can start by choosing one of our two products, Growth or Pro. Both follow the same Evaluation process but differ in their Trading Objectives, pricing, and conditions. This allows you to select the structure that best matches your trading style and experience.
Setting up your account
Once you are ready, you can configure your account by selecting your product and account size. Key parameters:
- Evaluation accounts are denominated in US Dollars (USD).
- Accounts are based on a monthly subscription.
- Available trading platforms are NinjaTrader, Tradovate, or TradingView.
Important note
Please note that it is not possible to obtain a Sim-Funded or Live Funded Account based on any external trading track record. To become an FTMO Trader, you must successfully meet the Trading Objectives of the selected product, Growth or Pro, during the Evaluation.
