Rule Radar

Prop Firm Rule Changes. Tracked Daily.

Your morning update on futures prop firm rule changes, refreshed overnight.

We track the published rules and policies of 32 futures prop firms and keep every version, so when a firm edits a rule we have the before and after in writing. Most of what changes is really nothing: a fixed typo, a clarified sentence, a word added here and there. But real changes stand out fast, and you can literally watch rules and policies tighten line by line. Payout terms creep, consistency thresholds drop, and prices quietly climb. It works the other way too: sometimes payouts improve and rules loosen, and when that happens it’s usually one of our Premier firms.

Most of the tightening shows up on the Unlisted side, firms we track but haven’t listed on PickAPropFirm.com. When a firm with a rough reputation starts gaining traction on rock-bottom prices, promoted by affiliates who would scam their own grandma for a commission, the discount usually costs you somewhere else, and that somewhere shows up here. If a plan looks too good to be true, it almost always is.

Starred changes are the ones we think deserve your attention; the full feed below is everything we caught, right down to the typo fixes.

Treat this page like your morning paper. It updates overnight, so grab your coffee and see what changed. – Jmu (@jmutrades)

Once the target is reached, the account will undergo a final review. After successful verification, the trader will move forward as a Funded Trader.
  Daily Loss Limit
- On the Reserve plan, there is no daily loss limit.
- It is the trader’s responsibility to manage risk appropriately and trade in a disciplined manner while staying within the account’s overall trailing drawdown rules.
- Is there an option to add a Daily Loss Limit to a Reserve Account?
- Yes. We now offer an optional Daily Loss Limit add-on for traders who prefer the Reserve Account but would like the additional protection of a daily loss limit. This add-on can be selected during purchase for those who want an extra layer of risk management while trading, it act as soft breach.
+ Reserve Accounts include a Daily Loss Limit by default. Traders who prefer to trade without this restriction can select the “No Daily Loss Limit” add-on when purchasing their account. The Daily Loss Limit can be removed by selecting the optional add-on during checkout.
+ If the add-on is selected, the account will not have a Daily Loss Limit. However, traders must continue to manage their risk carefully and remain within the account’s overall trailing drawdown limit.
+ The Default Daily Loss Limits are:
  - $25,000 Account: $600
  - $50,000 Account: $1,200
  - $100,000 Account: $1,700
  - $150,000 Account: $3,000
+ Without the add-on, exceeding the applicable Daily Loss Limit will result in a soft breach.
  Maximum Overall Drawdown (EOD)
The Maximum Trailing Drawdown on Reserve Accounts varies depending on the account size and follows an End-of-Day (EOD) trailing model during both the Evaluation and Funded stages.
· · ·
  Example
If your highest-profit trading day is $2,000, your total profits must exceed $4,000 before you satisfy the 50% consistency requirement.
+ Optional 40% Consistency Add-On
+ Traders who prefer a lower-priced Reserve evaluation can select the optional “40% Consistency” add-on during checkout.
+ When this add-on is selected, the standard 50% Consistency Rule is replaced by a 40% Consistency Rule. This means your highest-profit trading day cannot account for more than 40% of your total profits.
+ For example, if your highest-profit day is $2,000, your total profits must reach at least $5,000 to satisfy the 40% requirement.
+ The Consistency Rule applies only during the Challenge phase. Funded Reserve Accounts do not have a Consistency Rule.
  Consistency Cushion
- To give traders a little more flexibility, the Reserve Account includes a 1% Consistency Cushion. This means your largest profitable trading day can make up up to 51% of your total profits, instead of being strictly limited to 50%. The cushion is there to help traders who narrowly exceed the consistency limit by a small amount, so they don’t have to take an extra trading day just because they were slightly over.
+ To give traders a little more flexibility, the Reserve Account includes a 1% Consistency Cushion. The 1% Consistency Cushion applies to the standard 50% Consistency Rule only, allowing the highest profit day to represent up to 51% of total profits.
+ The cushion is there to help traders who narrowly exceed the consistency limit by a small amount, so they don’t have to take an extra trading day just because they were slightly over.
While this flexibility may allow some traders to complete the evaluation in as little as two trading days, we always recommend focusing on consistent trading rather than trying to pass as quickly as possible.

Consistency helps encourage disciplined risk management by ensuring no single trading day accounts for a disproportionate amount of your profits. This promotes steady, repeatable trading habits throughout the evaluation.
  Calculation
- All S2F Accelerate accounts are subject to a 25% Consistency Rule. This means your largest single trading day's profit cannot exceed 25% of your total account profit when requesting a payout. + No. You cannot have active trades simultaneously across a Funded Live account and an Evaluation or Funded Sim account.

The maximum drawdown trails your account balance until the initial balance of $10,000, $50,000, $100,000, or $200,000 is reached. Once this level is reached, the drawdown remains fixed permanently.
In Funding, the drawdown is adjusted to the starting balance after a Performance Reward payout and remains fixed at that level permanently.
- Example (100K Account)
+ Phase 1: Before the limit freezes
+ Drawdown is trailing first.
+ - The drawdown amount stays fixed: 6% of starting balance
+ - The drawdown limit sits 6% below your highest end-of-day equity
+ - The limit only moves up
+ - The limit never moves down
+ Example: 100K account
  Starting balance: $100,000
- Max drawdown (6%): $6,000 Initial max drawdown level: $94,000
- Day 1 (Profit)
+ Max drawdown (6%): $6,000
+ Initial drawdown limit: $94,000
+ Day 1 (profit)
  End-of-day equity: $102,000
- →New drawdown level: $96,000 ($102,000 - $6,000)
- Day 2 (Loss)
+ New drawdown limit: $96,000 ($102,000 $6,000)
+ Day 2 (loss)
  End-of-day equity: $100,500
- →Drawdown level remains at: $96,000 (The limit does not move downward after losing days)
- Day 3 (Profit)
+ Drawdown limit stays at $96,000
+ It is not adjusted downward.
+ Day 3 (profit)
  End-of-day equity: $103,000
- →New drawdown level: $97,000 ($103,000 - $6,000)
- Important:
- The drawdown level only increases when a new equity high is reached and does not decrease after losing days.
+ New drawdown limit: $97,000 ($103,000 − $6,000)
+ Phase 2: After the first performance reward
+ The first payout is capped at $1,500.
+ After that, the drawdown limit is moved to the starting balance and freezes there.
+ From that point:
+ - Drawdown limit = starting balance
+ - On a 100K account it stays at $100,000 permanently
+ - The buffer is no longer 6% below current balance
+ - Available buffer = current equity minus starting balance
+ - That is simply the profit still left on the account after the payout
+ If equity falls to or below starting balance, the account is closed.
+ Example: 100K account after the first payout
+ Equity before the payout is $103,000.
+ You withdraw the maximum first payout of $1,500.
+ - Equity after payout: $101,500
+ - Drawdown limit: $100,000 (frozen at starting balance)
+ - Available buffer: $1,500
+ - Not $6,000. Not 6% of $101,500.
+ If equity later rises to $106,000 with no further payout:
+ - The limit stays at $100,000
+ - Available buffer: $6,000
+ After the first payout, the limit no longer trails upward.
+ Quick comparison
+ | Before the first payout | After the first payout
+ Drawdown amount | 6% of starting balance | only the remaining profit
+ Drawdown limit | highest EOD equity minus 6% | fixed at starting balance
+ Limit moves up | yes | no
+ Limit moves down | never | never
+ First payout | not taken yet | maximum $1,500
+ Account closes when | EOD equity is below the trailing limit | EOD equity is at or below starting balance
+ Common mistakes
+ Wrong: “My drawdown is always 6% below my current balance.”
+ Right: That only applies before the limit is frozen, and only against the highest end-of-day equity.
+ Wrong: Drawdown and drawdown limit are the same thing.
+ Right: Drawdown is the distance. The limit is the equity level at which the account ends.
+ Wrong: After the first payout I have $6,000 of room again because this is a 100K account.
+ Right: After the payout you only have as much room as the profit left on the account.
+ Wrong: The Challenge works differently.
+ Right: The drawdown logic is the same in Challenge and Funded. A payout and the freeze to starting balance happen once the first withdrawal is made.
+ The limits in your dashboard always take priority. Percentages and account sizes can differ by product line (Crypto/CFD or Futures).

  Why does this rule exist?
The Max Position Loss rule ensures that your risk per market is strictly limited.
+ The Maximum Position Loss rule applies to each position and includes all costs, such as slippage, spread, and fees. Multiple positions in the same market are considered together.
  Your maximum risk per market:
  - Challenge: 1% of account balance
· · ·
  Example (Evaluation)
  Account: $50,000 → 1% risk = $500
+ It is recommended to build in a safety margin below the 1% limit to account for normal market fluctuations and trading costs.
  Example (Funding)
  Account: $50,000 → 0.5% risk = $250
+ It is recommended to set the risk well below the 0.5% threshold to account for slippage and fees.
What happens in case of a rule violation?
A violation results in a soft breach:
· · ·
  - The account remains active
  - Trading can continue immediately
+ A stop-loss does not guarantee a fixed execution price. Slippage and fees may cause the actual loss to exceed the limit.
After the 3rd violation, a hard breach occurs and the account is closed.
+ Market conditions such as high volatility or wide spreads increase the risk of triggering a rule violation.
  Purpose of this rule
  - Prevents excessive concentration in a single asset
· · ·
  - Encourages clean and professional risk management
  - Reflects realistic trading conditions in live markets
+ Best Practices for Avoiding Rule Violations
+ - Allow for a safety margin: Set your risk below the specified limit to account for slippage and fees.
+ - Be mindful of market conditions: Avoid trading in volatile markets or during periods of wide spreads.
+ - Regular Review: Monitor your positions and factor all costs into your risk management plan.
+ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
+ - Why doesn’t a stop-loss protect against a breach? A stop-loss does not guarantee a fixed execution price. Slippage and fees can increase the actual loss.
+ - Are fees included in the calculation? Yes, all trading costs, such as fees and spreads, are included in the loss calculation.
+ - Does the limit apply per account or per position? The limit is calculated per position, but multiple positions in the same market are aggregated.
+ Differences from Other Risk Rules
+ - Daily Loss Limit vs. Max Position Loss: The Daily Loss Limit monitors the maximum daily loss, while the Max Position Loss rule limits the loss per position. Both rules operate independently of each other.

  Consistency & Profit Target
- In the Rapid Futures Funded Account, the profit target is determined by the 40% consistency rule.
- Your best trading day may not exceed 40% of your total profits.
- The consistency resets after each performance reward payout and is recalculated based on your next highest profit day.
- Example
- You start with a fresh account and make:
- - Day 1: $300 profit
- - Day 2: $270 profit
- Your highest profit day determines the required profit target.
- → Best Day: $300
- Since this may only represent 40% of the total profit:
- 300 ÷ 0.40 = 750
- This means you must reach a total profit of $750 for your $300 best day to represent only 40% of total profits and satisfy the consistency rule.
- As long as you do not exceed $300 profit in a single day, the target remains unchanged.
+ The Rapid Futures Funded Account has no consistency and therefore no profit target.

- Consistency Rule (Funding only)
- Your best trading day may not exceed 30% of your total profit.
- Example:
- $258 best trading day → new minimum target = $860
- (258 ÷ 0.30)
- If your best winning day exceeds this limit, the profit target is automatically adjusted to ensure compliance with the rule.
- Consistency is reset after each Performance Reward payout and is then recalculated based on the next best trading day in the current cycle.
+ The consistency rule ensures that your profit comes from steady, sustainable trading rather than a single big day. It prevents results from relying on one outsized win and encourages a balanced, repeatable trading approach.
+ Challenge
+ Whether a consistency requirement already applies during the Challenge depends on the plan you choose.
+ Funding
+ In Funding, a consistency rule always applies.
+ You can find the exact consistency requirement for your account in the corresponding article or on our website.

- In Crypto and CFD Challenges, the profit target is 8% and in Futures Challenges the profit target is 6%.
- In Funding, the profit target is dynamically calculated based on the 30% consistency rule.
+ The profit target is the goal you need to reach to successfully complete your account. How it works depends on the stage you're in.
+ Challenge
+ In the Challenge phase, your profit target is a fixed percentage of your starting
+ balance. Once you reach this target (while staying within all other rules), you pass and move on to Funding.
+ Funding
+ In the Funding phase, there is no fixed profit target. Instead, your payouts are based on the consistency rule, so your results reflect steady trading rather than one big day.
+ You can find the exact targets for each account in the corresponding article or on our website.

Questions

What is Rule Radar?

Rule Radar is our daily record of rule and policy changes across 32 futures prop firms. When a firm edits a rule, adds a page, or deletes one, the change shows up here with the exact lines that changed.

How often does it update?

Daily. New changes land by early morning US time, so check it like a morning paper.

Where does the data come from?

Straight from each firm’s own published pages. We keep every version and compare them line by line, so nothing here is secondhand.

What does a starred change mean?

A starred change is one we think actually matters, like payout terms, rule tightening, or pricing. Most edits are typos and clarifications, and those stay in the full feed above.
